# C268 independent source-role review 24 September 2026. Immediate-source audit only; no source changes or wider endpoint search. Read: `active_c265/active/latest/sources/C01_REPORT.md`, `C01_RESULTS.json`, the C206 report and certificate, and the completed C267 report. C01's frozen event registry has 48 records. This review independently recomputed the midpoint and phase quantities below using exact rational arithmetic. ## Retained chains and midpoint status | Fixed signed Creation center | Retained right centers: MT Flood → MT Noah birth → SP primary Noah birth | First midpoint | Second midpoint | |---:|---|---|---| | −4419, SP offset 2 | 2458 G2 → 3056 G1 → 3706 G1 | 2757, SP G2 companion Noah death | 3381, generated | | −4417, SP offset 4 | 2460 G3 → 3058 G2 → 3708 G2 | 2759, SP G3 companion Noah death | 3383, generated | The fixed Creation members are 4420t/4419n BC and 4418t/4417n BC, respectively. Creation remains in its admitted ordinary source field; these selectors do not represent Creation Gears. Right center A denotes the reflected pair AD At/(A+1)n. The first increment is 598 = 299 + 299. Its midpoints are explicitly source-qualified in C01, with exactly one matching record each in the frozen 48-record registry. The second increment is 650 = 325 + 325. Centers 3381 and 3383 have no record in that registry and must remain generated. This is a finite registry finding, not a claim that these coordinates can never occur elsewhere. From each Creation anchor the first midpoint has width 7176 = 24×299 and the second has width 7800 = 24×325. The complete widths 6877→7475→8125, the 598/650 gains, the sourced first midpoint, and the fixed-anchor affine maps are inherited from C01/C206. Their novelty must not be reassigned to C268. ## Local bracket comparison C267 supplies radii 23/4, 6, 25/4 about its local junction x=1. Under the oriented chart L(a,s;x)=a+s(x−1): | Scale s | Images of those three radii, as widths from a | Image of the central radius 6 | |---:|---|---| | 1196 | 6877, 7176, 7475 | Sourced SP companion Noah death | | 1300 | 7475, 7800, 8125 | Generated 325 midpoint | Thus the same local half-year component bracket represents either gain with a different scale. Their ratio 1300/1196 is E=25/23. The scale choice changes the midpoint's source status; coordinate agreement alone cannot make both midpoints sourced events. On the local side, the two outer positions are components of one LXX closing pair and its center; on the C01 side they become centers belonging to different source events. This is a comparison between distinct source roles. ## What “restores ±1/4” means C206 defines P_a(t)=a+E(t−a) on pair centers, and says it restores the ±1/4 separation afterward. Literal application to a source pair gives P_a(t±1/4)=P_a(t)±25/92, not P_a(t)±1/4. Raw component separation becomes 25/46 rather than 1/2; each outer offset exceeds 1/4 by 1/46. Therefore the inherited model is a center operation followed by phase reattachment. One can alternatively define separate maps using the corresponding two Creation components as anchors: P_(a+δ)(t+δ)=P_a(t)+δ for δ=±1/4. That preserves corresponding seasonal components, but is two phase-specific affine maps, not the single scalar map P_a acting on every component. These formulations must not be silently interchanged. Likewise, L with s=1196 or 1300 turns the local half-year bracket into 598 or 650 whole years. It cannot simultaneously transport that bracket as an ordinary half-year source pair. Reattaching ±1/4 around the resulting event centers is a separate construction. ## Negative side and reflection C267's local involution is J₁(x)=2−x. It exchanges the positive and negative seasonal-radius branches around x=1. For the increasing chart above, L(a,s;J₁(x))=2a−L(a,s;x). Its image reflection is therefore centered at a, not at the global Mirror axis 0. With a held fixed, the negative radius branch lands at a−6877, a−7475, etc.; it does not automatically give the existing right-hand event chain. Reversing chart orientation can bring its absolute radii onto the same right-hand chain, but that is a declared coordinate choice and adds no source witness. Global M(t)=−t instead carries the entire anchored chain, including a, to its reflected chain with anchor −a. The useful covariance is M∘P_a=P_(−a)∘M. There is no justification for applying global M to the right endpoints while silently keeping the original negative Creation anchor. The negative local LXX pair itself retains C267's source labels: 6t BC arises from the translated/reflected Shem 5883n BC component, and 5n BC from Shem 5884t BC. Reflection reverses their order and their inherited seasonal roles. Its bilateral agreement is inherited geometry, not an additional independent chronology or newly sourced 325 midpoint. ## Review conclusion The proposed comparison is supported when stated as an exact affine rescaling with preserved source labels. Its substantive distinction is the sourced 299 midpoint versus the generated 325 midpoint, alongside the mismatch between local seasonal components and target event centers. No further Gear, phase lattice closure, universal anchor, global axis, historical endpoint, or independent witness count follows from the affine equalities alone.
