# C20 — What the two routes to 529 share, and what still has to agree

22 September 2026 · Bounded continuation of C19.

**The regular construction and the local/cumulative construction both give 529, but their agreement is an additional relative source constraint.** They share the retained 598 comparison; that shared input does not force the answer. The Conquest anchor, the Abraham-to-Conquest suffix, and all fifteen non-Cainan Arphaxad-to-Moses lifespans cancel from this unit comparison.

The two calculations are

\[
\boxed{K_{\rm reg}=650+2(598)-1308-7-2(1)=529,}
\]
\[
\boxed{K_{\rm local}=\frac{598+460}{2}=529=23^2.}
\]

Holding the regular inputs and the selected 598 length fixed, equality requires the cumulative Cainan insertion to be **460**. The controlling source supplies exactly that value. This is a conditional inverse check of an already known source value; neither the target unit nor the chronology settings were selected blindly.

**The begetting contribution is a difference of named chains.** File_18 §§2.2 and 3.2.1 give:

| Begetting interval begins with | MT | SP | SP−MT |
|---|---:|---:|---:|
| Arphaxad | 35 | 135 | 100 |
| Shelah | 30 | 130 | 100 |
| Eber | 34 | 134 | 100 |
| Peleg | 30 | 130 | 100 |
| Reu | 32 | 132 | 100 |
| Serug | 30 | 130 | 100 |
| Nahor | 29 | 79 | 50 |
| Terah, retained zero-offset state | 70 | 70 | 0 |
| **Total** | **290** | **940** | **650** |

Thus

\[
d=940-290=6(100)+50=650.
\]

No absolute event coordinate enters this sum. A common change to the same MT and SP begetting interval cancels from d. A change in only one tradition does not. Equal numbers elsewhere, such as a 130-year Cainan begetting age, do not become interchangeable with these named intervals.

The fixed SP Normal head-to-Lamech subtotal is

\[
h=130+105+90+70+65+62+65+67=654.
\]

These are Adam through Methuselah's successive begetting inputs in File_18 §3.1. Only the fixed Normal path is used; C20 introduces no regular Gear transport upstream of Noah.

Let λ be the completed interval from fixed G2 Lamech to primary G2 Noah. The declared 53rd-year station gives **λ=52**. In the retained primary Noah-bound path, Noah→Shem is 500 and Shem→same-Gear Flood start is 100. Write

\[
n=500+100=600.
\]

Here n means the cardinal Noah-to-Flood span, not Noah's full lifespan. Let g=2 be the adjacent regular Flood-Gear displacement, and r=2 the G2 SP Flood-start→fixed-Arphaxad interval. These are separately typed applications of the source's two-year hinge. Then

\[
\ell_r=n-g=598,
\]
\[
\boxed{P=h+\lambda+n+r=654+52+600+2=1308.}
\]

Equivalently P=654+52+500+102, the C18/C19 path from the fixed SP Creation endpoint to fixed Arphaxad. The last 102 is G2 primary Shem→Arphaxad; it is not a revision of the retained G1 Arphaxad-bound 100.

The remaining regular inputs are **w=7**, the Creation-week width, and **τ=1**, the offset from G1 Flood start to the original handoff's selected Flood close. τ is an event-boundary choice, distinct from SP's person companion. The cumulative input **κ=460** is the lifespan of the named second Cainan in File_18 §§4.2 and 6D. Its insertion/removal is distinct from regular Cainan's 130-year operation.

**The two occurrences of 598 retain different endpoint roles.** C19's local formula uses the regular length ℓr. Its cumulative realization must also be checked.

The regular N02 interval is MT G1 Noah **3056 BC** to MT G2 Flood start **2458 BC**, giving 598. N04 uses **3058→2460 BC**, also 598. These are qualified comparisons across adjacent Gears; a same-Gear Noah/Flood span remains 600.

The cumulative stack adds Shem's lifespan **S=600** above the Flood/Arphaxad comparison seam. Selecting the Flood member two positions earlier relative to its corresponding Shem member reduces the selected interval by **rC=2**:

\[
\ell_c=S-r_C=600-2=598.
\]

| Retained branch | LXX OFF selected Shem member | LXX OFF selected Flood member | Difference | Corresponding Shem member ON |
|---|---:|---:|---:|---:|
| N02 | 5885 BC | 5287 BC | 598 | 6345 BC |
| N04 | 5883 BC | 5285 BC | 598 | 6343 BC |

For N02, the named OFF comparison seam is 5285 and the corresponding named Shem seam is 5885. Selecting 5287 for the former, while retaining 5885 for the latter, produces the 598 interval. N04 shifts both selected members two years later. No matched cumulative lifespan has been shortened.

The C12 join R10 is therefore recorded explicitly as

\[
M=\ell_c-\ell_r=0.
\]

Noah's age at the Flood and Shem's lifespan are separate source roles. Likewise, regular Gear displacement and cumulative member selection remain separate operations even though both offsets are two. Once M=0 is supplied, the directly stacked unit

\[
K_{\rm stack}=\frac{\ell_c+\kappa}{2}
\]

equals C19's Klocal. This clarifies the provenance of the shared 598 without reopening the completed endpoint search.

**One further equation makes the units agree.** C19 defined

\[
G=P+d+w,\qquad J=d-\tau+\ell_r,\qquad K_{\rm reg}=2J-G.
\]

Substitution yields

\[
K_{\rm reg}=d+2\ell_r-P-w-2\tau.
\]

This is also the combination **2B−2O−W** from C19's width identity: **2(8993)−2(5290)−6877=529**. Substituting the source expressions cancels the cumulative opening and common anchor, leaving exactly the regular relative inputs above. It does not introduce a new dated 529-year event interval.

Define the doubled unit residual

\[
\boxed{\Psi=2(K_{\rm reg}-K_{\rm local})
=2d+3\ell_r-2P-2w-4\tau-\kappa.}
\]

At the retained source values,

\[
\Psi=1300+1794-2616-14-4-460=0.
\]

Equivalently, the regular inputs require

\[
\boxed{\kappa_{\rm required}=2d+3\ell_r-2P-2w-4\tau=460.}
\]

The right side of this last calculation contains no Cainan lifespan input. Comparing its result with the named source lifespan supplies the additional compatibility check. It does not establish an independent manuscript witness or predict which variant an unexamined source must contain.

At the explicitly separated source-role level,

\[
\boxed{\Psi=2d+n-2h-2\lambda-3g-2r-2w-4\tau-\kappa.}
\]

If the source equality r=g is substituted, the two hinge terms combine to −5g. Keeping them separate shows where each enters.

| Input group | Coefficient in Kreg | Coefficient in Klocal | Coefficient in Ψ |
|---|---:|---:|---:|
| Post-Flood begetting difference d | 1 | 0 | 2 |
| SP head→Lamech subtotal h | −1 | 0 | −2 |
| Lamech→primary Noah interval λ | −1 | 0 | −2 |
| Cardinal Noah/Flood span n | 1 | ½ | 1 |
| Adjacent regular Gear displacement g | −2 | −½ | −3 |
| Normal SP Flood→Arphaxad interval r | −1 | 0 | −2 |
| Creation-week width w | −1 | 0 | −2 |
| Flood closing-calibration offset τ | −2 | 0 | −4 |
| Named Cainan lifespan κ | 0 | ½ | −1 |

The n coefficient is instructive. A coherent change to the cardinal Noah span changes both ℓr and P. Treating those two derived quantities as unrelated would give the wrong primitive sensitivity. The table describes formal dependence, not permissions to revise the source durations.

If the cumulative selected-length match is released, the directly stacked comparison has

\[
2(K_{\rm reg}-K_{\rm stack})=\Psi-M.
\]

Thus M=0 and Ψ=0 perform different jobs. Their coefficient rows have rank two when those source roles are formally released. The existing packet satisfies both; this is an algebraic dependency count, not a count of independent historical witnesses.

**The SP midpoint simplifies the regular route, but does not force the unit match.** Its residual is

\[
H=h-(\lambda+n+r)=654-(52+600+2)=0.
\]

This is the source midpoint **4414→3760→3106 BC = 654+654**, with the second endpoint fixed Arphaxad. C20 retains the current File_18 preferred head; the superseded 4415-Adam repair is not used.

Without suppressing the midpoint condition, the exact formula is

\[
K_{\rm reg}=d-2\lambda-2g-2r-w-2\tau-H.
\]

When H=0, it becomes

\[
650-104-4-4-7-2=529.
\]

This is a useful reduction of the fixed source path. It is not a third independently sourced 529 interval. In particular, κ does not occur in the midpoint relation. Changing only κ preserves H but breaks Ψ. Conversely, a formal redistribution h→h+1, λ→λ−1 keeps P and both units unchanged while changing H by two. The midpoint and unit equations have rank two; neither is a general consequence of the other.

**The admitted SP companion paths preserve P.** File_18 §3.1 supplies three paths to the same fixed Arphaxad:

| Path | Lamech→Noah | Noah→Shem | Shem→Arphaxad | Lamech→Arphaxad total | P |
|---|---:|---:|---:|---:|---:|
| Primary Noah / primary Shem | 52 | 500 | 102 | 654 | 1308 |
| Companion Noah / primary Shem | 53 | 499 | 102 | 654 | 1308 |
| Companion Noah / companion Shem | 53 | 500 | 101 | 654 | 1308 |

All give Kreg=529. A lone replacement of 52 by 53 would instead give P=1309 and Kreg=528; it is an incomplete path change. The compensating leg must be retained.

The companion Noah→primary Flood-start span is 599, while the primary cardinal relation is 600. The companion path is used here only as an equivalent route to fixed Arphaxad. Its 599 is not transferred into the MT primary Noah/Flood comparison. SP person companions do not move Creation, Arphaxad, Flood boundaries, or Conquest.

**What cancels, and what remains outside this result.** The audit expands all eight SP head begetting inputs, all sixteen MT/SP post-Arphaxad begetting inputs, the named lifespan entries, and the retained duration/member controls. The evidence ledger has 56 typed input entries, including derived durations and the comparison anchor; these are not 56 independent textual observations.

The coefficients of the following quantities are zero in both unit formulas:

- The Conquest coordinate Q.
- Every part of A=100+60+130+430+40, the shared Abraham-to-Conquest suffix.
- Every non-Cainan lifespan in T=3879, the LXX OFF Arphaxad-to-Moses subtotal.
- The cumulative opening offset wL=5.

Cancellation here does not remove these inputs from the larger 10/13/17 family. They still determine absolute endpoints and opening calibration. In particular, **Shelah's lifespan 460 remains in T**, while **Cainan's lifespan 460 is κ**. A change to Shelah's lifespan affects the cumulative opening but not either unit formula. A change to Cainan's lifespan affects the local unit while cancelling out of the coherently reconstructed OFF opening.

The remaining 10/13 compatibility from C19 is

\[
\Phi=2b-4a+14K_{\rm local}=0,
\]

where

\[
a=T+w_L=3884,\qquad b=P+m+s+2A+w=4065.
\]

Here m=290 and s=940. The Ψ and Φ coefficient rows have rank two. For example, changing only Shelah's lifespan by +1 leaves Ψ=0 and changes Φ by −4. The unit match therefore leaves a distinct cumulative/regular sum agreement to explain.

This separation connects directly back to 6877 and 8993. For C19's family residuals,

\[
\boxed{4r_{17}=4r_{10}+2r_{13}+\Psi.}
\]

Thus the 17-fold calibration follows from the 10- and 13-fold calibrations once Ψ=0 is supplied. At the source, O=5290, W=6877 and B=8993 remain unchanged. The anchor-eliminated equations also satisfy

\[
4J_{17}=\Phi+\Psi,
\qquad 4(7c-3b-8a)=\Phi+7\Psi.
\]

The second identity accounts for C19's free-unit consistency check. These coefficient identities hold before inserting the source numbers.

**Bounded controls confirm the distinctions.** Modified durations below are formal diagnostics, not proposed variants. The start/close and adjacent-member controls use available source boundaries but do not replace the retained attachment.

| Control | Kreg | Klocal | What it tests |
|---|---:|---:|---|
| Retained source | 529 | 529 | Ψ=0 |
| Cainan lifespan +1 | 529 | 529½ | Breaks unit equality while preserving SP midpoint |
| SP Nahor begetting +1, MT held | 530 | 529 | The 650 difference contributes independently |
| Same +1 to MT and SP Nahor begetting | 529 | 529 | Difference cancels; Φ still changes by +4 |
| SP pre-Lamech Jared begetting +1 | 528 | 529 | Fixed head total matters |
| G1 start replaces original close calibration | 531 | 529 | Event-boundary choice matters; physical Flood duration remains one year |
| Shelah lifespan +1, Cainan held | 529 | 529 | Unit match survives; Φ changes by −4 |
| h+1 and λ+1 | 527 | 529 | Preserves SP midpoint but breaks unit equality |
| h+1 and λ−1 | 529 | 529 | Preserves unit equality but breaks midpoint |

The evidence additionally checks the incomplete 52→53 path change, a coherent formal regular n+1 change, and the adjacent cumulative member 5886 in place of 5885 while 5287 stays fixed. That last source-member comparison is 599, so Kstack becomes 529½ while Klocal remains 529. It illustrates exactly why R10's selected-length match must remain explicit.

**Validation and checkpoint.** The standard-library checker passes **96 exact checks**, including source hashes, current begetting and lifespan extraction, the reconstructed unit values, symbolic coefficient identities, rank certificates, the two retained cumulative branches, the three admitted SP paths, and twelve bounded control rows including the baseline. An isolated replay reproduces all three generated JSON outputs byte for byte. All ten original dependencies remain unchanged.

The evidence packet contains this report, the checker, a primitive source ledger, a dependency certificate with exact coefficient maps, the result register, frozen source/checkpoint inputs, provenance hashes, and the replay record. No earlier campaign was executed and no canonical file was edited. Regular Gears remain confined to Noah/Shem/Flood. The 1446 and 1876 primers, Rounded chronology, upstream Gear transport, and interrupted historical Reports 11–25 remain outside this step.

**Source locators.** File_18 §§2.1.3–2.2 provide the MT cardinal relation and begetting chain; §§3.1–3.2.1 provide the fixed SP head, primary/companion paths, Flood boundaries, Arphaxad binding and post-Flood chain; §§4.2, 6A and 6D supply the lifespan controls. File_09 §3.1 controls paired Mirror suffix inversion and §3A.1 the whole-year envelope distinction. The original Mirror handoff preserves the close calibration and typed cumulative fields. Completed C12 R10–R11 identify the selected-length join and Cainan insertion; C17/C18 supply the verified source sums; C19 supplies the anchor/unit equations. These supplied project sources control this audit; C20 does not undertake external textual authentication or historical dating.

**Best next bounded step — High sufficient.** Audit the remaining **Φ=0** agreement at the named lifespan/begetting level. Determine whether its cumulative subtotal and regular chain admit a compact source decomposition beyond agreement of their totals, with the now-explicit Ψ=0 unit condition held in view.
