# C482–C531 research packet

Start with `490d_How_Chronological_Families_Fit_Together_Draft_20260927.md` for the readable explanation. The combined C482–C531 report and five ten-step reports preserve the individual questions and reassessments. The checkpoint gives the next proposed bounded test.

`journal.json` contains50 sequential records. Each includes inputs, source sections, outputs, finding, reassessment and a predecessor hash. `evidence/s482.py` through `s531.py` are the executable step records. Some final steps formalize the grammar or record review decisions; they are not all new numerical discoveries.

For a safe read-only replay after extraction:

```bash
python3 evidence/verify.py
```

This substitutes in-memory journal functions, independently implements placeholder-preserving reversal, compares every result with the recorded journal, verifies the chain and source snapshots, and writes `VERIFY.json`. It does not change `journal.json`. Do not run the individual scripts directly on the completed packet: their normal writer enforces sequential construction from C482.

Source snapshots, the controlling source hash manifest, and independent review notes are under `evidence/`. Reviewers checked48 analytical steps; C530 and C531 record review reconciliation and synthesis. Historical C480/C481 suites were not re-audited. Source-path absence, failed transfer tests, generated-coordinate roles and the deferred second-order branch are preserved.

`MANIFEST.sha256` covers the packet files except itself. The final ZIP is a portable checkpoint, not a canonical repository replacement.
